DU 12 JUIN AU 11 JUILLET 2026 – VERNISSAGE LE VENDREDI 12 JUIN, 18H<\/p>\n\n\n\n Le titre paradigme peut avoir d\u2019autres significations ; la <\/em>repr\u00e9sentation, un mod\u00e8le, <\/em>un ensemble de principes, de th\u00e9ories, de valeurs qui d\u00e9finissent une approche particuli\u00e8re pour comprendre et \u00e9voquer en fin de compte <\/em>un point de vue personnel.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Cette exposition est l\u2019aboutissement de la recherche <\/em>\u00e0 r\u00e9v\u00e9ler des connexions d\u2019id\u00e9es<\/em> interconnect\u00e9es qui r\u00e9sulte dans un accrochage autour d\u2019une pi\u00e8ce centrale. Un paysage surr\u00e9aliste de 28 toiles. Une all\u00e9gorie qui d\u00e9montre que <\/em>les humains ne contr\u00f4le pas l\u2019histoire autant qu\u2019ils se l\u2019imaginent.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Je puise mes sources dans mes origines flamandes, ma vie en France et ma relation avec le Midwest, en particulier le \u00ab corn-belt \u00bb, les \u00e9tats o\u00f9 domine la culture de ma\u00efs, <\/em>culture interm\u00e9diaire \u00e0 vocation \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, source d\u2019\u00e9thanol, avec ces silos de grains gigantesques qui dominent les paysages. <\/em>Associ\u00e9s aux tours de Carcassonne j\u2019y figure Don Quichotte, un gentilhomme campagnard courageux, noble et instruit, habit\u00e9 jusqu\u2019au d\u00e9lire<\/em> par sa croyance litt\u00e9rale que l’\u00e9poque de la chevalerie n’est pas r\u00e9volue. Avec Sancho Panza, son \u00e9cuyer, alli\u00e9 ignorant et cr\u00e9dule qui a bon sens et a un sain instinct de conservation.<\/em> C<\/em>omme Cervant\u00e8s, Bruegel montre l’homme comme un anti h\u00e9ros, comique et parfois grotesque, et il suit la parabole de l’aveugle conduisant des aveugles d\u00e9crite dans Matthieu 15:14 :\u00abLaissez-les tranquilles : ce sont des aveugle-conducteurs des aveugle.<\/em> <\/em>Et si l\u2019aveugle conduit l\u2019aveugle, tous les deux tomberont dans le foss\u00e9.\u00bb<\/em> Gravitant autour de cette \u0153uvre des paysages fantasmagoriques, des chevaliers et personnages en <\/em>stade de m\u00e9tamorphose. Je garde m\u00e9moire des horreurs et abominations humaines, tel que la code noir (abrog\u00e9), mais de la magnificence humaine aussi. Lumi\u00e8re versus t\u00e9n\u00e8bres. Le sens de l\u2019\u00e9merveillement ce <\/em>qui rassemble<\/em> le mystique, le po\u00e8te et le savant.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n DON QUICHOTTE ; inspirer et r\u00e9interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019apr\u00e8s le film \u00ab L\u2019impossible r\u00eave \u00bb de Orson Welles avec l\u2019acteur Fransisco Reiguera Acrylique sur toile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The title \u201cparadigm\u201d can have other meanings: representation, a model, a set of principles, theories, and values \u200b\u200bthat define a particular approach to understanding and ultimately evoking a personal point of view. This exhibition is the culmination of research that visualized interconnected ideas, resulting in an arrangement around a central piece: a surreal landscape of 28 canvases. An allegory that demonstrates that humans do not control history as much as they imagine. I draw my inspiration from my Flemish roots, my life in France, and my connection to the Midwest, particularly the “corn belt,” the states dominated by corn cultivation, an energy crop and source of ethanol, with its gigantic grain silos dominating the landscape. Associated with the towers of Carcassonne, I see Don Quixote, a courageous, noble, and educated country gentleman, driven to the point of delirium by his literal belief that the age of chivalry is not over. With Sancho Panza, his squire, who combines ignorance and credulity with common sense and a healthy instinct for self-preservation. Like Cervantes, Bruegel portrays man as an anti-hero, comical and sometimes grotesque, and he follows the parable of the blind man leading the blind described in Matthew 15:14: “Leave them alone; they are blind guides of the blind.” And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into the ditch.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Orbiting around this work are phantasmagorical landscapes, knights, and figures in stages of metamorphosis. I will remember human horrors and abominations, such as the (repealed) Black Code, but also human magnificence. Light versus darkness.
